Home Lab : A Shark



















My son shot a shark at an aquarium and printed it out on the desktop printer.

Seriously. Are you kidding me? Get the M5 out, load the film, and start from the beginning. I know someone who'll rep him... jk, but if he keeps this up he won't need a rep.

I dunno. It's closer to the Flickr aesthetic rather than acknowledging and awareness of the history of photography, but it does look cool. A proud Dad.

Rewind. How old is the boy? It might be closer to the Flickr aesthetic, but that's not the point here. The point is, this guy is a grom and he's taken a picture that a lot of adults couldn't take. Maybe it was a dumb luck shot, but c'mon... What did your first work look like? Was it bold and expressive and acknowledge the history of photography? You SHOULD be proud. Not worried about the history of photography. Sometimes it's the essence of photography. The acknowledgment and awareness comes later... like when he turns 13.

The light, for example kicks ass. Don't tell you me can't agree. I'll agree with myself on that one.
