I'm with you - it's a poignant time of year.
No...not an important time of year. An important time of LIFE.
No kidding... what I'd give to go back, and do it all over again. Wouldn't most?

Oh, this is the way you get to go back...this is why people have kids. Kind of.
Photographs function as an attempt to deny the inevitable. The longing to save a but a thin slice of yesterday accelerates as parents age. And then it becomes the hope that one's progeny may one day come to share the life they only vaguely recall, and even, perhaps, begin to know what it was like being their parent.
