Echolilia Covers

Trash Can Cover #1
Designer Jennifer Pyle is working on the cover finals for the Echolilia book we are self publishing for Tidepool to show at visits and gift to interested agencies. Am I done? Not really, but this is an excuse to see a trial version in hard copy and work out the glitches.
These are some covers we mocked up for Jennifer before she gets to work. The current favorite is the top one.
Any thoughts on favorites, chime in here below...

Hose Cover, #2

Balloon Cover, #3

Nest Cover, #4

Shweetness. First one's #1. Third one's my #2, even tho I love the vacuum one, the text doesn't seems as strong as the other two.

chirp.

tough call between #1 and #2 for me. #1 looks more of what we're used to in a book cover. I'd definitely move up the text a bit more - could use a little bit more white space, looks like it's about to drop on top of the subject. the vacuum hose is so playful - i love it. darker in tonality, but maybe that fits the subject. I'd try and move the title up a bit and then put the byline underneath a little offset from the left so it won't compete with the image. all looks great!

Thanks. Ahhh...don't judge a book by the cover. In this case, you prolly can. Still working out the glitches, but I think its coming together. Kind of glad I put it on hold for a year....

Tim - all 4 are beautiful, each with its own sense of discovery and emotion. But I really like #2 the best.
Great work. And I 'm really looking forward to seeing this body of work collectively.

There're all very strong pictures and designs. I do wonder whether #'s 1 and 2 have more of the feeling of dreams like Arthur Tress and his Dream Collector. Three and 4 are less dream-like for me and therefore maybe more appropriate for the project?

Bottom line for me is that they ALL look really good and you can't go wrong. Good luck. Make sure you post how to order.

Tough call between the first two. As much as I love the second, the first one does it just a little bit more.
