Mother's Day Story
Last week I was in the post office and a customer requests the Jimi Hendrix stamps.
Suddenly the conversation spills over between the workers and the people in line about Jimi, whether Sonny And Cher were street performers on Clay Street in the late 60's, and the derivative nature of Stevie Ray Vaughn' guitar playing.
Today I was photographing tho envelope before I sent it to my Mom in the lobby. An older guy asks me if I'd like him to hold the letter to get a better angle!? I say sure. He goes on to explain that he worked for the post office for 28 years. He then says "I'm sure you've read Post Office by Charles Bukowski, right?"
Amen.
